Can you tell us a little about yourself before you got to know OAN?
- Your name: Yasminatou Imorou
- Where are you from? From Nikki.
- What did you do before joining OAN? I worked as a facilitator on water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) issues in Pèrèrè.
- What training have you received? Training in Hydraulics and Sanitation.
- How did you imagine your future back then? I imagined myself with greater financial stability to carry out my projects.
What is OAN Nikki?
OAN Nikki (Objetivo Analizar Nikki) is an organization that helps and assists communities in their empowerment and development.
What convinced you to join the OAN Nikki team?
The desire to contribute to the development of my community.
What is your job at OAN and what has joining the team meant for you?
I am in charge of the ASEP-AGUAPP project.
What motivates you to keep working with OAN Nikki?
Contributing to community development and having a paid job.
What is usually part of your daily routine?
A working day consists of being in the office from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., signing the attendance book, cleaning the office if it is your turn and starting the activities planned during the week.
Challenges and opportunities of development cooperation
In your opinion, what approach should international cooperation take to foster development?
Cooperation must take a sustainable development approach. Finding a balance between the financial, environmental and social aspects.
How would you describe the ideal development for Nikki? / What model of development do you think the people of Nikki want?
I believe the people of Nikki want sustainable development, long-term development.
Life in Nikki beyond development cooperation
What do you do when you are off working hours?
Nothing, the working hours do not allow anything else.
